Tip #1: Malis

One of the best restaurants in Cambodia is Malis. In the Khmer language Malis means white jasmine flower. Being a high-end restaurant, the jasmine flower is integrated in several dishes as a recognition value.
Fish Amok is one of the signature dishes they offer at Malis, fragrant jasmine rice with goby fish fillets marinated in a lemongrass curry paste and steamed in a banana leaf basket.
These culinary delights can be enjoyed in Phnom Penh and Siem Reap.

Tip #2: Embassy
Kimsan Pol is the culinary genius in the halls of the Embassy Restaurant in Siem Reap. Even though she had lots of possibilities thanks to her excellent skill set, she decided to stay in Cambodia. In the warm and elegant ambience of the Embassy, she is creating a fine-dining experience with focus on Khmer cuisine and her own special touches, which makes it one of the best restaurants in Cambodia.
The set dinner can be accompanied by either a special wine or champagne pairing or an organic tea pairing. These pairings are carefully chosen by the well-trained staff of the Embassy Restaurant.

Tip #3: Cuisine Wat Damnak
One of the founders of a Cambodia restaurant is Joannès Rivière a Chef from France. Together with his former partner, the two have founded the restaurant Cuisine Wat Damnak. All their hard work led to being listed in the past as one of Asia’s 50 best restaurants.
In Siem Reap the restaurant, a traditional Cambodian wooden house, is located in the Wat Damnak village. There are different dining areas and you can sit outside or inside.
In a solid brick villa, built in the 1950’, in Phnom Penh you will find another Cuisine Wat Damnak. Additionally to the dining rooms, there is a walk in wine cellar.

Tip #4: Olive, Cuisine De Saison
A restaurant of extravagance – Olive, Cuisine de Saison – owned by Olivier and Sophal in 2014. The idea of the concept is bringing together authentic Cambodian cuisine with classic French techniques and flavours.
If you decide you do not want to taste the typical Cambodian cuisine today, you should definitely take a look at the menu. To kick off the evening with typical french flavours, the Blue Cheese Soufflé is a must try, the variety of main courses has something to offer for every taste. When it comes to the sweet finish, the Crêpes Suzette, crêpes flambée with Grand Marnier, is definitely a top choice.

Tip #5: Brasserie Louis

Tip #6: Il forno
If your desire sparks for Italian food,Il forno Phnom Penh is the place to be. In a modern chic setting surrounded by open wine shelves you can enjoy traditional Italian food, or can arrive early for a pre-drink in the bar area.
One of the specialities here is the wood-fired oven, where you can choose from a variety of different handmade pizzas. Starters, handmade pasta, and typical meat/fish dishes can also be found on the menu.

Tip #7: Oskar Bistro
Oskar Bistro Phnom Penh who would have thought that is already the second one. Originally the owners opened the first Oskar Bistro in Bangkok. Operating this one successfully with the French Chef Julien Lavigne, who still oversees the menu in Bangkok, the decision has been made to open another one in Phnom Penh.
If you just want to have dinner, grab a drink with friends or listen to some music and have a glass of wine with some snacks – Oskar’s Bistro it is!
The menu is a combination of classic French and European dishes with its own twists. The menu has something for everyone, be it the classic pizza, and Wagyu beef burger or, for the gourmet, the truffle mushroom soup and French raclette.

Sandan restaurant in Sihanoukville is a very unique Cambodian restaurant. The restaurant is operated by M’Lop Tapang and functions as a training restaurant for disadvantaged young people. In this cozy atmosphere and embracing ambience with lots of nature surroundings, everyone will find a tasty dish on the menu.
