We are not just talking about ‘Sandwiches’, we are talking about ‘Best Sesame Bread Sandwiches in Jordan’. Since 1965 Salaheddin Bakery in the Abdali Neighborhood has been offering their self-service sandwiches with success.

The concept is simple and brilliant. Customers walk in, grab their freshly baked sesame bread and stuff it with their favorite ingredients, like cheese, roasted or boiled eggs, za’atar and sauce.

Tip #3: Nur Lebanese Dining

Chef Joe Barza is the mastermind in the kitchen of Nur Lebanese Dining. He brings the taste of Lebanon on the tables of the fancy Fairmont Hotel restaurant. With over 30 years of experience, he has created a menu, featuring a mix of authentic, but also Lebanese fusion kitchen.

The restaurant offers Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and a Lazy Friday Brunch option. A live band every night, except Mondays, makes the dinner a full on experience.

Tip #4: Pizza Nina

Eating out in Amman, doesn’t mean eating Falafel, Hummus and Mansaf every day. When locals go out, they love Sicillian pizza – best made by Pizza Nina. The house of Sicilian pan pizza makes deep pan pizza with artisan sourdough crust.

Tip #6: AlQuds

AlQuds is a hole in the wall. But it also serves the best falafel in Amman. Located in the middle of buzzing Rainbow Street, the options are limited, but extraordinarily delicious. Two types of falafel sandwiches, normal or deluxe, are available.

Owner Adib Rasas opened the spot in 1966 and has since served falafel to locals and tourists, but also to many VIPs. Waiting in line for the very popular sandwiches is just a normal procedure for AlQuds customers.

Tip #7: Books@Café

Books@Café has two locations in Amman, the original one is located in Jabal. The café calls itself one of the most iconic and revolutionary establishments in Jordan. Established in 1997, the spot is a hip bookstore, café and restaurant in one.

Serving breakfast and many traditional Jordanian meals, Books@Café also offers Pizza, Burgers, and Sandwiches. Desserts are big on the menu, Date Cake and Pistachio Cake are bestsellers.

Tip #8: Blue Fig Restaurant

The popular two-story restaurant in the Abdoun neighborhood is a hip spot, where locals and tourists meet for coffee and gourmet food. In an artsy atmosphere, guests can enjoy a culinary journey through the countries of the world. The food is international, so are the folks who visit Blue Fig.

Blue Fig stands for modern food, with great gluten-free and vegan options. They also offer specialty coffee, with a wide selection of regular and organic Arabica beans.

Tip #9: Shams El Balad

Shams El Balad is very unique. It gives you this warm, fuzzy feeling of being invited to somebody’s house, enjoying their home cooked food and relaxed atmosphere. The spot is kind of a mix of a café and restaurant. They offer many organic food options, local ingredients and freshly cooked Arabic food.

‘The sun of the city’ (this is the translation of the restaurant name), started in December 2000, as a small shop by Maha Dahmash and grew over the years into a popular dining location.

Sufra is proud to be the first restaurant, serving Jordanian homemade dishes in an authentic setting. It’s an amazing experience in a quite unique setting. Nestled in a traditional villa at the end of busy Rainbow Street, the open air dining, with a little fountain in the middle.

The restaurant’s menu invites you on a journey, from the Northern cities of Jordan, to the South and covers the whole palette of the flavorful Jordanian cuisine.

A place where you can have breakfast, lunch and dinner! This is the High Garden Rooftop. A green spot in the middle of the city with a wonderful view – by day or by night.
