This is the perfect reason to check out the enormous variety of restaurants and food. We have 14 tips for the best places to eat in Frankfurt.
Tip #1: The Magic Table
A completely new dinner concept elevates experiential gastronomy to a level that has not existed before. At The Magic Table, reality merges with illusion, as this 3D dinner was co-produced by The Clairvoyants.
They are known from America’s Got Talent, where they enchanted the world with their spectacular mentalism and illusion shows. Now, it’s coming to your table! During a five-course menu, you will experience magic and wizardry up close and become an interactive part of the show.

Tip #2: zukaya
Zukaya takes you on a culinary journey. At this restaurant in the heart of Frankfurt, located at the Steigenberger Frankfurter Hof, you can enjoy modern fusion cuisine with Asian influences.
Look forward to dishes such as baked shrimp or gyoza for snacking and tuna tartare or salt-crusted beetroot as starters. The main courses include grilled eggplant and duck breast. The dessert menu treats guests with a sweet tooth very well, too.

Tip #3: 7 paintings
Have you ever eaten a Picasso? Paint your salad and cut through a tomato can to find a steak as you experience 7 Paintings, an avant-garde food experience that merges food theatrics, technology, and multimedia art to offer a one-of-a-kind dining experience like none you’ve ever seen before.
Embark on a journey with the trio of Leonardo da Vinci, the Mona Lisa, and an animation of chef Omar Sartawi, as they take you through the works of the great masters of art. Tip #4: stasny’s heritage
Sports and food are always a great combination. Stasny’s Heritage is located directly at the sports fields of SC Frankfurt 1880. The club hosts rugby, tennis, hockey, and lacrosse under one roof. With a perfect view of the sports fields, Stasny’s Heritage serves great food. The huge, free parking space makes it easily accessible.
The menu is varied, rustic, and modern in both style and ambiance. The Stasny’s Burger is a guest favorite, featuring a Black Angus beef patty loaded with BBQ sauce, caramelized onions, bacon, cheese, and even a sunny-side-up egg. Don’t be afraid to visit the sports club restaurant as a vegan; Stasny’s caters to plant-based lovers as well.
A Beyond Burger patty, vegan mayo, pickles, and vegetables are stacked between a crispy and soft bun. A separate kids‘ menu with moderate pricing, including a soft drink with every meal, makes Stasny’s Heritage a perfect family restaurant.

Tip #5: Blumen
Blumen (translates to ‘Flowers’) in Frankfurt’s Nordend isn’t your typical restaurant. It’s like visiting friends for a meal in a very private atmosphere.
Blumen has only 18 seats available and no à la carte menu, but rather a tasting menu that changes twice a month.
The cuisine is French-inspired, and the bar is a local gem with homemade alcoholic and non-alcoholic mixers. The menu reads like a love letter to the region, using local, often organic ingredients prepared with immense creativity.
Four-, five-, and six-course meals are available. The restaurant caters to vegetarians and vegans, but only with advance notice.

Tip #6: Seven Swans
Where to eat in Frankfurt? Definitely at Seven Swans! The restaurant is special for two reasons: First, Seven Swans only serves 100% plant-based meals; no animals or animal products are used in the kitchen. Second, the chef behind the stove is the first and only German vegan Michelin-star chef, Ricky Saward.
The restaurant is usually booked out for weeks, sometimes even months, so it’s important to get a reservation ahead of time. In 2019, the restaurant transitioned from a vegetarian place into an all-vegan restaurant.
Nevertheless, vegan meat or cheese alternatives are not to be found on the Seven Swans menu. Ricky Saward sources local ingredients and cooks high-quality, beautiful vegetable cuisine with produce he often finds himself while walking in nature or exploring various farmers‘ markets.

Tip #7: Hoppenworth & Ploch
It almost feels like a tourist trap when you find the Hoppenworth & Ploch location in Frankfurt’s New Old Town. Nestled between gift shops, museums, and many tourist attractions, this specialty coffee shop serves the best coffee, pastries, and panini sandwiches to tourists and locals alike.
With the first sip, you already know this is not a trap, but just damn good coffee. This is the reason why Hoppenworth & Ploch was able to open up in such a fancy location.
Three shops in Nordend, Campus, and the Old Town, plus a roastery and bakery, belong to the Hoppenworth & Ploch empire. All the beans are roasted fresh, and pastries and bread are baked daily in their own bakery and delivered to all locations. Barista training and classes are available at the roastery.
Their Old Town coffee shop has limited seats and is usually crowded; in the summertime, more outdoor seating is available. And there is still the coffee-to-go option — definitely worth it.

Tip #8: Ristorante Italiano Trattoria i Siciliani
Looking for things to do in Frankfurt? Take a quick trip to Sicily. It’s easier than you think! In the heart of Frankfurt Sachsenhausen, Ristorante Italiano Trattoria i Siciliani takes guests straight to Italy. With delicious, authentic Italian food and wines, owner Matteo Morreale convinces everyone that Sicilian cuisine is one of the best in the world.
Traditional Sicilian recipes, cooked ‘alla mamma’ with seasonal and local ingredients, are paired with only the best Sicilian wines. Since 1986, Morreale has worked in restaurant kitchens and is deeply connected with Italian cuisine. The restaurant serves antipasti, pizza, and meat specialties, as well as delicious Sicilian pasta varieties.
The ‘Gnuccuni cu Tartufu o Nuciddi’, a homemade gnocchi dish stuffed with cheese, truffle, and hazelnut cream, or ‘Lasagne ri Manzu Chi Mulinciani’, a lasagna specialty with beef ragout and eggplant, are perfect meals for a romantic dinner.

Tip #9: Der Fette Bulle
Just a stone’s throw away from Frankfurt’s main train station is one of the most famous burger places in town. ‘Der Fette Bulle’ (or ‘the fat bull’) is not a regular burger joint, but rather a fancy burger restaurant. It is loved by travelers for a hearty meal after a long journey, enjoyed by party folks for a good late-night snack, and appreciated by burger snobs for its quality.
The restaurant is proud of its buns, baked fresh every day, its made-from-scratch sauces, its high-quality burger patties, and creative burger ideas.
Unlike many other burger places, manager Yasar Gür is happy to provide table service instead of self-service. Whether it’s local beef or chicken, Portobello mushroom or falafel burgers, it’s hard to decide what to order. The house-made ketchup is a must!
It is cooked daily for five hours with five kilos of tomatoes. Hungry guests can order a double patty and double cheese; the home fries with thyme and rosemary are never a bad choice. All patties are cooked medium-well. We call it „Fancy Fast Food.“ The restaurant has a second location (Oeder Weg).

Tip #10: Schandis
Since 1999, Schandis has been serving authentic Persian cuisine in the heart of Frankfurt. Schandis belongs on any list of fancy restaurants in Frankfurt.
The elegant dining room with Oriental decor, chandeliers on the ceiling, cloth napkins, and beautiful plates and cutlery is the perfect spot for a romantic dinner in Frankfurt.
The food is as perfect as the service and decor. Schandis offers grilled specialties like ‘Soltani’ (grilled lamb on skewers), traditional Persian stews like ‘Fesenjan’ (a stew made with chicken breast, pomegranate, and grated walnuts), and Persian rice dishes like ‘Shirin Polo ba Morgh’ (braised chicken served with rice with almonds, pistachios, orange peel, and carrots).
For vegetarians and vegans, Schandis offers a special menu. Three-course meals are available for two or more people.

Tip #11: Muku Ramen
Ramen is the latest hip comfort food! No matter if it’s summer or winter, a big, steaming ramen bowl is always an inviting lunch or dinner. But ramen is actually not new; it’s loaded with tradition and goes back to the early 20th century.
Muku Ramen in Sachsenhausen is the ‘King of Ramen’ in Frankfurt. Since 2010, Ayuka and Shinichi Yamamoto have been managing the kitchen at Muku Ramen.
They do this so well that the restaurant is always booked. They also opened two more branches in Japan, in Kofu and Kamakura. Even more impressive – the restaurant caters to Japanese airlines‘ First Class and Business Class lounges in Frankfurt.
In big pots in the restaurant kitchen, the pork bone broth simmers next to traditional wooden trays of fresh ramen noodles ready to be cooked. The prices for the bowls are very reasonable.

Tip #12: Life Deli
The Frankfurt Jewish Museum is a highlight of the city’s museum scene and always worth a visit. In January 2023, the new kosher restaurant Life Deli moved in and has since surprised visitors with a vegan fusion menu of Israeli, East European, and Oriental food.
Nir and Sigal Rosenfeld and Janka Krauzpaul operate the deli hand in hand with chef Boaz Kwinter, who has gained professional experience in many kitchens over the last 30 years.
The deli combines elements of breakfast, lunch, and a café, with coffee and cake, while also offering house-made delicacies for purchase. The all-day Israeli breakfast includes either an omelet with plant-based meats or vegetables, or a traditional vegan shakshuka.
Appetizers include a vegan so-called „Joie Gras,“ a delicious and very impressive imitation of foie gras based on chestnuts and cashews. The bowls feature shawarma, falafel, and beautiful stuffed bell peppers with wild rice, and no one can resist the chocolate halva tart. No museum ticket is needed to visit the deli.

Tip #13: Apfelwein Solzer
This longstanding tavern is an institution in Frankfurt. Everybody knows Apfelwein Solzer. Since 1893 — over 130 years — the winemakers (now in their fifth generation of the Solzer family) have been making the best apple wine from fresh, first-class ingredients.
The restaurant has grown over the years into a spot famous far beyond Frankfurt’s borders, where tourist crowds and locals sit together, young folks enjoy nights with apple wine, and families celebrate.
A massive outdoor seating area with 300 seats and an additional 160 indoor seats are proof of how many visitors Apfelwein Solzer attracts. Of course, it’s important to drink apple wine when you visit, but a rustic, traditional German meal goes perfectly with the alcoholic beverage.
Homemade head cheese with vinaigrette, remoulade sauce, and fried potatoes; the original Frankfurt ‘green sauce’ with beef brisket and boiled potatoes; or the ‘Frankfurter Sausage’ with potato salad are as traditional as it gets.

Tip #14: Im Herzen Afrikas
Im Herzen Afrikas (translated to ‘In the heart of Africa’) is your Frankfurt hotspot for authentic culinary delights from Eritrea. And it’s really like going to Africa!
Entering the restaurant and dining area, you’ll walk through sand, see paintings on the walls, old, long wooden tables, and clay structures. Definitely one of the coolest restaurants in Frankfurt!
The cuisine is based on family recipes but cooked with local ingredients. Even the beer is from a Frankfurt brewery. The chefs are very aware of dietary restrictions and avoid using Tesmi (an Eritrean butter) in the kitchen, which makes many of the dishes plant-based.
The injera bread is baked fresh every day, even in a gluten-free version. The restaurant offers mixed plates with a variety of small dishes served with injera bread. It’s a culinary and cultural experience to visit the restaurant — and of course, you eat traditionally with your hands.
